The mixer part of Pioneer XDJ-R1 can be configured and work in 2 modes, software (- Fixes: - Support for iOS 8 becomes available, ensure remotebox used with XDJ-R1 is updated to Ver.1.3.0. Notes for Firmware Update: - Disconnect all the devices and cables except the power cable from the unit.
- Set both Left and Right Mixer Channel to Deck 1 and Deck 2 respectively via the Source switchers to route the audio signal from the USB Audio Interface to the Mixer Channels of the XDJ-R1 and control the VirtualDJ mixer.
- Please use this Setting File in this page when you use XDJ-R1 as a controller for TRAKTOR PRO 2 supported by Native Instruments. This Setting File is required when Native Instruments TRAKTOR PRO 2 is used with XDJ-R1.
- Dec 17, 2014 [SOLVED] XDJ-R1 With Traktor 2.6.8 For Windows Hi: I´m a XDJ-R1 Traktor user MAC OS Edition and today I tried to help a friend that just bought his XDJ-R1, connect his R1 to Traktor 2.6.8 for windows.
XDJ-R1 mode (hardware)
In this mode, the sound is mixed using this unit's hardware mixer and the software mixer of VirtualDJ is not used. Virtualdj can be operated using this unit's player section.
To change the mixer mode to XDJ-R1 ...
- Press the [INFO(UTILITY)] button for more than 1 second. The [UTILITY] screen is displayed
- Turn the rotary selector, select [MIXER MODE], then press the rotary selector
- Turn the rotary selector , select the mode [XDJ-R1], then press the rotary selector.
Set your sound settings in CONFIG -> Sound Setup to the following:
Inputs: None
Outputs: External Mixer
Sound card (PC): ASIO - Pioneer XDJ_R1 ASIO (from the drop-down menu)
Sound card (Mac): 4-out card - Pioneer XDJ_R1 (from the drop-down menu)
Click Apply
PC mode (software)
The sound is mixed using the internal mixer of Virtualdj
To change the mixer mode to PC ...
- PRESS THE [INFO(UTILITY)] button for more than 1 second. The [UTILITY] screen is displayed
- Turn the rotary selector, select [MIXER MODE], then press the rotary selector
- Turn the rotary selector , select the mode [PC], then press the rotary selector.
Set your sound settings in CONFIG -> Sound Setup to the following:

Ouputs: Headphones (Master: Chan 1&2 / Headphones: Chan 3&4)
